Fire also come ah!!

Damn it… damn tulan…

Was having a great and lazy saturday evening until received a sms from the architect.

Asking for my feedback and revised report on sunday. The worst part was “unless we hear from you” thing, that one really heats up the fire!

To add oil to the fire, her boss fired us on our discipline.

Even my boss decided to keep quiet and allowing it.

OK fine.

You want it on Sunday? ok, i give you on Sunday 10pm.

happy editing then.

I really wanted to update the blog as frequent as I could, but the situation ain’t working the way I wanted. What I returned home everyday was a piece of mentally tired flesh with shirt on it. The work load is getting crazier and crazier day by day and seriously thinking how long more I can last another.

Lesson Learnt

I had a disappointing presentation earlier of the day.

Slides got messed up and lack of important points.

Script was not prepared and speech was clogged up in the middle.

Lesson learnt and moving forward for the next one.

Three More Days.

Three more days, I’ll be on my way to Perhentian.

The long waited island escape is counting down in me.,,,

At least I can stay away from this bored little tiny island with tonnes of workaholics and get a good rest.

I’ll be taking the earliest available bus at 7.30am and hopefully can reach KL at noon. Then my busy day would begin with getting a haircut, delivering road tax, groceries stock up, and also entertain my dog. Then only catching a bus at putra station at evening.

Marley, Beer and Me

I’ve just watched Marley and Me. I know. I know this is an old movie.

But you will have different feelings if you really have a dog.

Especially during the scene where Marley is euthanised. I really don’t hope to witness that in real life.

I missed my dog so much, should I leave sg and back to kl for him?

Damn it, just finish off the bud and get some good rest.

Hawker sells me boneless chicken that is not boneless.

Wooohooo~~~~ the level of complaining is reaching another new height. Pity those ppl who does not have a better life to live.

No, actually not their fault, because the school or text book didn’t teach them to eat with bones.

Wanted to iron all my working attires yesterday night, but I couldn’t locate the ironing board. I know the pigeon holes in sg are very small, but still....

I ended up turning on football manager to kill the rest of the night.

Suddenly, some voices come from my mind. “what will I gain from playing this?”, “your life will be the same even though you signed all the stars to your team”

The next thing I did was, finish off the match and headed to bed. Well, at least I will have more rest for a better tomorrow!

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

On Tuesday evening, while cooperate slaves like me rushing home at 6pm the rest are enjoying their life. On the left hand side of the sg’s famous HDB void deck, you can hear aunties practicing line dance. “one, to, tee, for, fy, sig, seone, egg, to, to, tee, for, fy sig seone, egg, tee tee... on the other side, some folks are putting up the badminton net for some games. From what i observed, most of them played seriously, and winning can be far better than enjoying the relaxing game with friends. Something is not right here.

Well, when you talk about my dinner, choices are plenty. I have four foodcourts nearby to choose from. Yes, the food can never be better than the neighbour. I always missed those foods in KL.

Wanted to write more, but I have a lousy maid that half ironed my shirt. So I need to post this up and iron. See you.

Today, I Repeatedly Remembered Something Called Tired

Has been sucked into the whirlpool of work recently and busy rushing report after report. Haih, paperworks are more than double what I did back in msia. Every decision needs written evidence here unlike the simpler life in kl.
Passed my driving theory test and ready to convert my license to the local one. I know the test is simple but anyhow the one who sat next to me failed the test even though he studied until the very last minute before the test starts. Possibly something call common sense is lack of in him.
Result is out and almost flipped into the fail region. I guess this is what I deserve for late coming and not paying attention to lectures. Something I still overlooked even in the second attempt. Hopefully I can pull back to safe zone in the final run and leave the uni in a proper manner.

Driving Test Reading Up

Been spending few days on reading up the theory test for my driving license conversion use.

Folks over here are not so fortune like those kids across the straits where only one theory test and coffee without milk practical test. Over here, all have to go thru basic theory then goes to advance then only can start to get a learner’s license to learn driving.

I realized that reading such material is almost the strongest sleeping pill you can ever found in the market and without side effect at all.

At the first 10 minutes, you still can have two-way traffic with the book.

On the 11th minute, you start to see traffic lights switching colours in your brain.

On the 15th minute, you will see a STOP sign. Dunno is from the book or imagined by your mind.

On the 16th minute, this sign is in front of me and see you tomorrow.

10 things to do before I die

This post was inspired by a friend who came and left sg after few months of work here. I know working here is tough and you had some great rough time. Nevertheless, you found a better way of living your life, and I’m proud of it.

10 things to do before I die. Hmmmm that’s hard, don’t believe 10 is enough.

Here goes my list.

1. Try to spend some time to call all my friends, I know I’ve not been doing a good job.

2. Go on a vacation with my family, well at least we can have some time to meet up and talk during the trip.

3. Spread my wealth properly, don't worry, it won’t take long, 10 dollars is easy to divide.

4. Spend some time with my pet.

5. Travel to San Siro again.

6. Write about my history, don’t think people will read thou.

7. Another vacation with my loved one.

8. Help my mom to prepare a dinner and feast on my favorite biscuit coated fried pork chop again.

9. Learn how to swim and dive for once.

10. Travel around the world and see as much as I can.

This might not be the most impressive list you ever seen, but this is purely extracted from my heart and no seasoning at all.

Another Slight Update

Study is temporarily over, and holiday is totally gone.

Dipped into the working pool deeply and swimming with sharks and traps.

In fact I was quite sad when I knew my holiday is over during the flight back to sg. You can even feel the classic sg attitude on the plane which still on thailand’s land. Haih, how pathetic is that.

So glad that I can avoid the breeding land of kiasu-ness until august when new torturing semester is gonna start again.

Exam is kicking start at coming Friday and I’m officially on unpaid leave.. woohoo, less money this month!!

The old video card is finally dead on Monday and I’m on onboard video card. However, it doesn’t support widescreen size, so all my display now is mega huge + blur font. Great.

My long serving Sennheiser headphone is died on me too yesterday, RM160 / 5 years = RM32/year, still quite worth it la.

Cheat Sheet

This is my second time preparing such information sheet to be brought into the examination hall. They called it cheat sheet anyway.

Dunno which bastard invented this idea.

Life become even harder when you need to write as small font as possible and tried to squeeze the entire lecture notes in it.

Today I wanna talk about MDG2. Been following for quite sometime since season 1 and if you want to compare, I do prefer season 1. Probably more “right” ladies to watch than second season.

More and more advertisements and lesser proper show going on = season 2

Now even worst, almost 50% of the episode is dramaaaa. You good to me, I good to you. You stab me, I stab you back. Wahlau, like watching movie soap drama like that.

When talk about contestants, my hopes are on Ming, Dawn and Pinky (I’m not bias on any single race ok)

Ming, so far so good. I like the way she is, being confident and make use of her unique face.

Dawn, initially I didn’t realize her in the competition so much until more and more girls were kicked out and ahha….. She is Dawn. The most sensible way of speech you can get from her in season 2. She even have fan club in Facebook!

Pinky ar, she was my top choice initially, based on her lovely look and type. But when she starts to speak, “YALAHHHH” wahlau my headphone almost killed my precious hearing ability. So slowly slowly I prefer Ming more than her.

The rest I really don’t feel like mentioning along. What I remembered about them was drama, drama and damn it drama again.

Ok, back to episode 13 and sleep early. ciao

Blah Blah

Why work and study do not mixed well.

Tuesday was the last lecture of the semester, and I’m supposed to be glad about that.

Anyhow, I ended up rushing work’s report when I reached home from class at 11pm.

Surrendered at 1am.

My studies are lacking so much and I can feel the heat in the ass.

How do you know you are too tired?

Misused the menthol anti-dandruff shampoo as shower gel.

Result: sensationally cool at sensitive area.

I really need more rest.

p/s: my life sucks

The Great Dinner of March 29

Had chicken lice for dinner.

Too tasty til I couldn’t dare to post up to create any nuisance to public.

So please imagine yourself.

Its quite easy to imagine.

Soy sauce

Chili sauce

Paper wrapper

Plastic spoon

Rubber band.

Thank you.

Random Pictures, Random Moments

pomfret penyet at Novena Square 2, where my office is. This one STILL ok.

This is a typical lecture moment, not much students taking masters actually.

Some lousy "nasi lemak" at NTU. You have low life fried chicken wings, saddening thin fried egg, half life sausages, factory taste fish cake slices, kiamsiap 1 slice cucumber, peanuts, salty ikan bilis, and lasty bloody sticky-salty sambal. This is NTU's life. No wonder so many ppl died over here. It's damn sad to eat this.

Assignment's answer, taken for my own "use".

Please Take Good Care of Our Dams

Indonesia dam burst kills dozens

This is something that I’m quite worried could happen in Msia. Not I’m looking down at us but, our homeland boys’ maintenance records are always famous of third world class with first world facilities. Some of our early dams were also built during the zaman penjajahan and how did they actually maintain it really still a question mark. To me, Msia and Indonesia have almost the same with type of people and attitude. Hopefully our water boys doing their job and not just eat and sleep.

Something Interesting

This could be interesting to some of the people.

Well, to me at least.

No Long Weekend for Me

No wonder so many folks saying balik kampung this weekend, it’s a long long weekend and only in msia.

Damn, I’m starting to miss those weird public holidays.

NTU Hit the Headlines

Look, study in NTU is not easy.

Not all foreigners can cope with the local study culture, even I’m also struggling.

Definately there are more relaxing place to study.

2/3/2008 and 2/3/2009

2nd of March 2008,
I woke up at 7.20am, drove to work.
Had lunch at the building behind office.
Drove myself transport to construction site.
Left the office at 6.30pm and think of where dinner should take place.
Had dinner with friends at some cozy restaurant.
Went home later, surf net and watch TV.
Rest at 12am.

2nd of March 2009,
I woke up at 7.00am, walk to the MRT station and catch a train to work.
Had lunch at the building across the road.
Took MRT and taxi to construction site.
Left the office at 6.00pm and think of what should eat along the way to uni.
Had dinner in the lecture hall.
Went home by MRT + bus after lectures, surf net and wanted to rest immediately.
Rest at 11.30pm.

Look, life can be so much different in a year’s time. Life can be from easy to busy.

What I am trying to describe is, you will never know what will happen in future, not even tomorrow. You will be ended up differently from what you wanted for.

Short Notes

I have finally received my new lappie at work. Changing from a Pentium 4 M to core 2 duo is so much difference, specially the huge jump of memory from 256mb to 2gb. I have to wait nearly 2 month to get this and was suffering with that old piece of junk from store room.

When the lady sitting next to me starts to talk to herself, I’ll start to worry. Worried she will poke a knife on me when she can’t cope with the working pressure.

No More Games For Me

Apparently my video card has failed on me, I couldn’t load FM anymore.

In fact that is the hardest part of upgrading. I have changed to new mobo and transferred the old video card to here before, as I love my 5 years old radeon 9800 XT too much, unwilling to let it go. It performed well and still partially in service. Why is this the hardest part? This 9800 old tech stuff is running on AGP slot and it has been phased out for quite sometime already. So, the following options that are available to me:-

1. Get another AGP video card, but not much choices available on the shelf.
2. Get a new mobo with PCI Express slot.

Second option is like getting whole new system since the ram is not supporting too.

This is why I hate to play computer games. The upgrading of computer performance is increasing vastly and costly too. Might as well get a PS2 or 3 which can last for at least 5 years.

Now even surfing the net can be very slow sometimes and even freeze the whole system.

ROFLMAO Moment 1

If you have some time to spare with me, please watch this. thanks.

All I Want is a Camera

Been gathering digital camera’s info for the past weeks, wanted to have a new personal camera and throw my 2.0 megapixel and kill someone perhaps. There are few models came into my consideration, Panasonic LX3, Canon G10, Panasonic TZ5 and Nikon P5100.

Anyhow, G10 is the best in my affordable range but too bulky. P5100 not so good comments, TZ5 abit outdated. So what I left is LX3.

Die Die Must Buy Some

I thought I’m a Duracell rabbit, can never say die, but the rabbit died once.

My mom and brother were in sg for the weekend, and me being the gooooood son, I gave up my lovely bed to them. So I spent 2 nights on one inch cushion placed on cold hard tiles. Definitely didn’t sleep well at all and so tired throughout the weekend.

At first I thought I can finally get maximum rest on Monday night after my night class, but it ended up sitting next to the computer. Stupid air asia is selling free tickets on 12.00am onwards again, and SM is not going to miss this chance to get some tickets. Die die must buy tonite. The night wasn’t smooth too, air asia was incapable to cater and the booking system was clogged up like you flushed down an elephant in your toilet. The booking system went frosted still ok, to add salt to the wound, the merchant for ticket payments was facing technical difficulties. Damn it! We initially were trying to get 6 tickets for a trip of 6, but we only managed to buy 4. At the end we gave up and head to bed in the middle of the night.

Tuesday was another full day of work and night class again.

Why la, why your marketing dept can think of such idiotic ideas like selling discounted tickets in midnight or odd hours? I mean if really want to, at least the booking system is should to cater for all users, and not letting us suffer by staring at the monitor for hours. Saw a news that came out on the following 2 days about the complaints about the inefficient of air asia ticketing system.

Anyhow, I’ve planned two trips for year 2009. Had a quiet year 2008, and I’m ready to fly more this year.

Will be revisiting Bangkok again during this labour day.

And another year end trip, either Beijing, Taipei or Seoul.

Tired v1.0235

Had a wild ride on contractor’s Subaru Impreza WRX this morning. We were rushing from site to another site. Now I know how much fun you can have when you drive a performance car. The torque and grip is simply different from normal cars even C200 kompressor. The seat holds you tightly and stays low. He even did a 90 degree handbrake turn at 80km/h into a small housing access road.

When can I get myself a vw golf gti? Damn it. Have to work harder, 85k is not an unreachable target.

On another side note, I have this ongoing project. The architect, structural, and electrical engineer are all ladies. I love my boss.

Gimme More Time Please……

Ever since I have started work and study in a same time, I feel so drained out and no mood to do anything else when I return home. The worst day is Tuesday night class, the second straight night of classes in a week.

I shall remove this picture if I’m the lucky one.

There is a special toto draw during the cny, my colleagues went to grab a hope during lunch break and I betted $1. Just to try my luck. $10 million!

I’ve been assigned to participate in a security project, and I need to declare my background to the government. Digging back old history like where I have been staying for the past freaking ten years and all my exam results. The hardest part is to get two people who know me more than 2 years in sg and has to be prepared for interview with the home affairs. Dunno who could help me on this, hopefully I din put them into trouble.

CNY is over, for me at least!

Chinese New Year is over for me. Started work today, chor 3. How sad is that.

All I had for cny was sore throat then ultra sore throat and also tsunami style sore throat.

Almost finish one whole box of Difflam lozenges which costs me RM20 for 16 sweets and still pain like hell.

Got my first paycheck in sg dollar first time, but still most of them contributed to my tuition fees. So sad.

Started to plan something out for year 2009, since there are so many public holidays on Monday and Friday. For example, the Christmas and new year are Fridays and four days of leave can generate 10 days to travel.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Relax, Holiday Mood la Boss

One more day left.

I’m going back, to a place I called home, a place where you are very familiar even though you haven’t stepped in for a long time.

I missed KL.

The food is sometimes bad, but you are spoiled with choices of Chinese food or probably I’m used to have it the KL way for 20 years.

This new year I wanna eat/drink:
Pork mee
Prawn mee
Roti telur bawang
Daging special cheese burger
The KL way of lou sang
The KL way of drinking beer
Wantan mee
Cheesy wedges
Nasi lemak with rendang daging
Redbull less sugar
Nescafe ice
Bak kut teh
Melawati kebab

Damn it, I’ve got only 3 days in KL, how the hell can I achieve it?

Adik Perempuan System

Isn’t it great to hear that the AP system might be extended to 2020?

Those sissy AP holders are so-called not ready, to stand on their own feet. Still need spoon feeding from the people, and the parents are about to accept it.

Hopeless la.

So what are you waiting for?

Vampires are already sucking your blood for generations and you still not going to fight back?

Haw Par Villa is Almost Gone

Paid a visit to the
Haw Par Villa today. My last visit was like at least 10 years ago, when everything still well maintained. It’s kind of sad to see the park now in run down state, algae filled ponds and deteriorating statues.

All the rides were gone, the theaters were closed down forever and the crowds were no longer there.

Hopefully someone can revamp the one and only Chinese mythological theme park in Singapore and bring the long lost fame and proud back.

Work + Study = Crap

Work has started on Tuesday, but now only I could have some oomph to update here. Work til 6 and rush to uni for 6.45pm class is very hectic. Too rush, not enough time, too crowded. When you reach home, you will head to bed right after shower, no time to figure out whether I have time for other activities or not.

My first job was a small company which has only 10 staffs at most, and then 50 staffs for the second one and now 110, just my division alone. Corporate life is not fun at all, I always missed the life in my first job. My temporary lappie is like 7 years old, it has 2.0GHz 256mb ram running on win xp pro. It takes its own sweet time to boot up and launch whatever programmes. To add salt to the wound, my user account is still a mistake, guest account. I can’t even access to my team’s data. Basically I’m still not even on track with the rest of the team, perhaps things get better next week.

When you study, you want to work. When you work, you want to study. Conclusion, I have an itchy ass.

Cina Punya Tahun Baru la

We celebrated Christmas and New Year not long ago, and we now switch our attention to the most important times in Chinese calendar, Chinese New Year.

It’s less than a month to CNY. I bet most of us already planned their trip back to hometown for the precious reunion dinner on the 30th Night of the 12th Month in Chinese calendar.

For me, I have new job and another semester coming in January, and my class resumes on the third day of the New Year. So I would have to leave the town on Chor 2, 8am to be exact. Blame myself for procrastinating so much til the golden tickets are all sold out. I’m heading to KL on the 23rd of January, departing at 11pm. Another sleepless night again I guess.

Hopefully I can meet more long lost friends and lou sang until lao sai this time.

Ang pau here I come!!!

Super Mario Game
