Taman Negara 17~19/05/2008

Day 1 - 17/05/2008

My long awaited trip to Taman Negara

Yes, I’m in Jerantut.

The schedule to Kuala Tahan. In fact, we missed the 1pm bus, so we hire a van and a taxi to transfer direct to the Hotel Motel.

This is the one of the typical restaurant that you can feed yourself. Basically they provide local and western food, but never try to order something special. It might turns out ugly, No Joke.

At the entrance of Gua Telinga. It’s a one-way passage, exit at another end.

Traffic jammed inside the cave. Everyone started to shout at the group infront. They are moving like one-step-one-photo-please pace.

Due to the time wasting inside the damn cave by those idiota, we come out the cave late and sun is setting. So the day ended JUST LIKE THAT, thank you those bunch of idiota wasted our time.

Day 2 - 18/05/2008

Taken from my balcony.

The guide brought us to the canopy walkway right after the breakfast, because he noticed the whole Taman Negara is packed with tourists.

We made it to the canopy platform, and waited for like 1.5 hours to our turn. Imagine how many tourists were there. They were like queuing up for J CO Donuts.

Our guide who's supposed to take care of us.

Yip and Law, the two tall asses. Its advisable not to join them in the photo.
.
.
.
We head to Terisek Hill for some hill climbing. As usual, it’s packed with people, like window shopping in One U.

Mid of Terisek Hell Hill, soaked in sweat.

Dried ourselves on top of the hill and move on to Orang Asli Village. Tour guide asked whether we are interested to join the rapid shooting, at a discounted price of RM30.00. Rip-off Number 1. Some of us thought it would be fun, so part of the group joined. In fact, the rapid was like kici-miao stream with wave in the aquarium tank. No water splashing into the boat, no whatsoever bumpy ride, but we still got wet at the end by splashing water ourselves.

Orang asli village was still ok, if you are a city boy that hasn’t seen those orang asli light up the fire with lighter sticks and wood.

Everyone was trying the sniper.
.

.

After that, we paid a visit to Lubuk Simon which located behind the Mutiara Taman Negara.

Day 3 - 19/05/2008

Kosong.

Yes, kosong.

We spent the whole freaking day from Kuala Tahan to Jerantut to Temerloh to Pekeliling to Ampang.

The hotel Motel we spent 2 precious nights.

While we were waiting the bus that crashed the bridge to be cleared.

Lastly, our group photo.

Hi,

Read your recent Taman Negara post. Great! Did you go for the night safari? How's the trip like? I'm going there in 2 weeks time (been there a few times already) and would like to know lousy places / things to avoid. The good stuffs I know from touristy brochures la. Cheers.

Yes, it was planned on the first night when we were there.
The night safari was basically sitting on a pick-up and tour inside the palm oil field. To be frank, i really don't see what so fun about looking for animal inside the palm oil farm. What I saw was COWS, CATS, BIRDS, and some blinking eyes which they claimed to be musang. anyhow, the ride was chilling and moon bathing! don't ever expect too much from it.
